  • UCF has become more selective as the years have gone by. The UCF acceptance rate varies from one year to another. Hence, sources do not agree on the specific number. According to College Board, it is 44%. However, U.S. News states it as 36%.
  • High application volume. For the academic year of 2022-2023, there were 45,554 new applicants. Only 15,746 of those were accepted, and even fewer ended up enrolling. According to these numbers, around 35% of applicants were accepted into the university.
  • Program-specific competition. Some programs at UCF, such as business and health sciences, are more competitive than others. That mainly falls on the fact that they are more popular and have a more limited capacity.
  • Academic standards. While a relatively high number of students get accepted, the academic standards are still relatively high. We will further discuss the details of average grades and GPA requirements in the section below.

UCF General Yet Fundamental Documents Requirements

Moreover, the university expects you to complete a specific set of courses before getting admission as a first-year student. The total number of credits you should complete is 18, and the breakdown of the classes is as follows:

  • Four units of English (3 of which should be with writing)
  • Four units of mathematics (in Algebra 1 or higher)
  • Three units of natural science (2 of which should include lab work)
  • Three units of social studies
  • Two units of the same language
  • Two elective units (the university prefers something from English, math, science, social studies, or language)

UCF SAT Requirements 

The UCF SAT requirements could be interpreted from the average score achieved by the recent class admitted. Hence, the UCF average SAT score was 1270 – 1390. This composite score includes the evidence-based reading and writing sections and the math section.

UCF ACT Requirements

Similar to the SAT requirements, the UCF ACT requirements are not specific. Instead, you can reflect upon the average UCF ACT score recently within the range of 26 – 30. This is also a reflection of the composite score.

UCF GPA Requirements

The UCF average GPA of the recently admitted class was in the range of 4.00 – 4.50. However, this is not your cumulative GPA in high school. Instead, the university recalculates the scores.
